Treatment for Foot and Ankle Problems

There is a wide world of foot and ankle problems out there. Whatever might be ailing you, Eugene Foot and Ankle has the experience and treatments to provide the relief you need.

No two problems are exactly the same, and we provide specialized care based on a patient’s lifestyle, needs, and medical history. Whether that requires rest, physical therapy, custom orthotics, or another form of treatment, our primary goal is ensuring the patient knows and understands their best options.

What do we see come through our doors, and how can we help you?

Heel Pain

One of the most common foot problems, heel pain can stem from a variety of causes. Many of these are overuse injuries such as plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendinitis. Others can be the result of gait abnormalities, heel spurs, or other developments.

Treatment for heel pain is often dependent on the condition. They might involve stretching exercises, the use of custom orthotic inserts, shockwave therapy, or additional forms of corrective or pain-relieving treatments.

Too many people try to endure their heel pain, hoping it goes away over time. This not only rarely happens, but the problem tends to get worse. Only by determining the root cause of the problem can the most effective steps be taken to manage or correct it. Our Heel Pain Center of Excellence is committed to just that.

Sports Injuries

Active feet and ankles are healthy feet and ankles! Sometimes, however, a wrong pivot, an impact, or overuse can result in some painful, sidelining conditions.

A runner with stress fractures. A dancer with a Lisfranc injury. A soccer player with turf toe. It doesn’t matter if you are a professional or an amateur; a sports injury can cause big problems if it’s not addressed properly!

Dr. McCourt is quite active himself, and understands the apprehension athletes might have toward seeking treatment. Our goal with sports injuries is to provide the fastest, most effective treatment possible that won’t risk further injury. There may be some patience involved, but we will work with you to help you keep working safely in the meantime.

Children’s Foot Care

Children’s foot care, in some ways, is much the same as that for adults. Many of the same problems children can develop—ingrown toenails, plantar warts, heel pain, etc.—receive similar forms of treatment.

A big difference, of course, lies in approach! We have years of experience working with children, and specialize in bringing peace of mind both toward young patients and their parents.

Additionally, children often develop gait abnormalities as they grow and develop—from having flat feet to walking with their toes pointed at odd angles. We can monitor your child’s development to verify these quirks are just part of growing up and not sign of something more permanent.
